I recently started working more with pearls and quickly realized how important a good drilling machine is. At first, I used a basic rotary tool, but it was hard to keep the holes centered and avoid cracking delicate pearls.

After upgrading to a dedicated pearl drilling machine, the difference was huge. The stable chuck and precise alignment made drilling much smoother and more accurate. I also found that adjustable speed control helps a lot, especially when working with softer or more valuable pearls.

One thing I’d recommend is using sharp, high-quality drill bits and keeping everything well-lubricated to reduce heat. Even a great machine won’t help much if the bits are dull.
